Following the ghastly motor accident which occurred at East Legon leading to the death of two girls, families, friends, and the East Legon community gathered on Friday, October 18, 2024, to hold a solemn vigil in memory of Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh.

Some celebrities also joined vigil to pay their respects to the victims and their families.

Media personality and actress Nana Ama Mcbrown was spotted at the vigil, clad in a white and black outfit, the Onua TV presenter shared a video of herself at the event with her fans.

Actor and politician, John Dumelo was also spotted at the event clad in white. The NDC Ayawaso West Wugon Parliamentary Candidate was in a solemn mood as he followed the proceedings.

The vigil ended with an emotional flower-laying session which brought tears to the eyes of many.

Finally, over a dozen balloons were released into the sky in honour of the two girls.

The tragic accident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by one Joseph Ackah.

The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in two occupants of the Acura being burned beyond recognition.

Meanwhile, the High Court in Accra has granted bail of GH¢50,000 each to Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, following their arrest on October 15.

They were charged with allowing their minor son, Elrad Amoako, to drive, which led to the fatal crash in East Legon. A third accused, Linda Bempah, who provided Elrad with the car keys, was also granted bail.
