Actor and politician John Dumelo has stated that prices of agricultural produce have achieved some level of stability due to the recent rains.

He mentioned that farmers are currently benefiting from good rainfall, resulting in higher yields.

Dumelo believes that the government should focus on investing in irrigation systems to support farms throughout the year nationwide.

His comments came after the Minister of Food and Agriculture posted that a box of tomatoes is now selling for GHC400-500.

John Dumelo, who made this statement on X, said, “The prices will continue to decrease. Many farmers are currently harvesting due to the rain providing a water source. We will soon have an excess supply. It’s not complicated. What we need to invest in are robust irrigation systems that can sustain farms and provide food for the nation year-round. That’s when we will see price stability.”
