Celebrated gospel music producer John Mensah Sarpong, who has carved a niche for himself in the gospel music industry in Ghana won the Best Contribution of the year Award at the Africa Gospel Music Awards, held in London in July this year.
The Africa Gospel Music Awards was an opportunity for one’s work to gain recognition and to inspire and unearth the God given talents of others across Africa and the Diaspora.
John Mensah Sarpong competed in the category with Voice of Africa Radio, Bola Mogaji, Wole Oni, Premier Gospel, BC3 Media, and Jabu Hlongwane for the Award.
The awards which was in its third year, was being organised to celebrate the work of the sector to showcase the talents, innovation and success of our gospel artistes.
In a chat with BEATWAVES, John Mensah Sarpong also known as JMS, who joined the Ghana music industry in 1994 as one of the best gospel music producers with about 33 music albums to his credit, said he would continue to create an enabling environment to facilitate smooth operation of the gospel music industry in Ghana.
He disclosed that JMS Music Productions attached a lot of importance to developing its artistes and enhancing their image globally.
“We have established a vibrant global distribution network which ensures that the works of our artistes get to the market place”, he added.
