The Ghana Music Awards UK 2024 celebrated the best and brightest of Ghanaian talent on a crisp autumn night at London’s Meridian Grand, N18 3AF.
Originally planned for October 29, 2024, the event was rescheduled to Saturday, November 30, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Among the winners was UK-based Ghanaian Afro-gospel singer Joseph Matthew, who took home the coveted award for Highlife Artiste of the Year.
Joseph Matthew, also known as JM, was nominated in three categories at the prestigious UK Music Awards event.
This is the third major award that the ‘Fear No Evil’ crooner has won. In 2020, he won the International Artiste of the Year award at the maiden edition of the Emerging Ghana Music Awards.
In 2023, he won the Best Gospel Song of the Year UK at the Ghana Music Awards UK, and in 2024, he was crowned Highlife Artiste of the Year.
Joseph Matthew is known for numerous hit songs such as ‘Hallelujah,’ ‘Nyame Ye,’ ‘Not Alone,’ ‘My Story,’ ‘The Name,’ ‘Blessed,’ ‘Promise Land,’ and ‘Fear No Evil.’
Dancehall star Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year. Sarkodie, King Promise, and Mr. Drew also won awards on the night.
