Joyful Way releases ‘Me Twen Yehowa’ single (Video)

Multiple award-winning gospel music group in Ghana Joyful Way has released its second single titled “Me Twen Yehowa”.

With 14 albums to its credit, ‘Me Twen Yehowa’ is only the group's second single, after ‘Di De’ released in 2009.

The new single is based on Psalm 40 of the Bible and speaks of waiting for the Lord to incline His ear towards the believer and then to establish the person's ways. The music is a fusion of reggae, ballad and afro beat, and features a ragtime interlude where the rapper speaks on Isaiah 40:31 that “they that wait upon God will renew their strength, mount up with eagles’ wings, and run and walk without being weary and faint.”

The song features exquisite guitar works by the combination of Dominic Quarchie and Ace Ankomah (who wrote the song). The music was recorded and mixed by Herbert 'Oshogbo' Crassie at Music Klinik in Accra and Mastered by Jonathan McMillan at Blue Pro Mastering in London. The video was produced and directed by Bishop Mante of ThroneRoom Studios, Accra.

Joyful Way was founded in 1972 by secondary school students in the Cape Coast schools of Mfantsipim, Wesley Girls and Adisadel. They are reputed to be the pioneers of contemporary gospel music in Ghana, having been the first to introduce contemporary music forms and instruments like guitars into Ghanaian gospel music.
