Ghanaian media personality and fashion icon Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has taken to social media to address friends and acquaintances who are unhappy with his decision to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

It may be remembered that in an interview in September 2023, KOD, who previously backed the New Patriotic Party (NPP), announced his support for the opposition NDC, citing unfulfilled promises by the government.

It appears that his choice did not sit well with some of his acquaintances, as KOD mentioned in a Facebook post on July 20 that certain individuals have distanced themselves from him due to his political stance, despite him respecting their decisions.

He stressed that he is mature enough to make his own choices, including his political opinions, and expressed his frustration at the idea that others want to influence his political beliefs.

“Some people will get distant as “FRIENDS” because you have chosen a side to support politically. Meanwhile, you stayed their friends when they made their political choice.

“At my age, you want to determine my views and beliefs? Eeeeish! You no dey respect like that? Even my family members have different political views, so really…

“Note: they were NEVER your friends in the first place. Tell them to F! Off,” he said.
