Come Sunday May 2, one of Ghana’s fashion designers, Ophelia Crossland, will organize a fashion show, music concert and exhibition of textiles dubbed ‘Rhythms On The Runaway’, to outdoor the Ohemaa Kid Klub at the Headlines Hospitality near Labone Coffee Shop in Accra.
Ophelia Crossland designed clothes for Miss Malaika 2009 and has a clientele that includes personalities like Okyeame Kwame, Mrs. Rawlings, Wutah, Chief Justice G. Wood and Doreen Andoh among others. ‘Rhythms On The Runaway’ will entertain the audience with eccentric but elegant designs which will be displayed by top class models.
The event, which aims to target kids between the ages of 1 and 16, is expected to attract a number of fashion designers, stakeholders in fashion, film and music industries, as well as opinion leaders. The event has Doreen Andoh, ace radio presenter of Joy FM as the host.
It will witness live musical performances from Kwabena Kwabena, Nana Boroo, Afya, Wutah, Nii and I-wan. Mrs. Crossland believes that the Ghanaian fashion industry is a multi-million dollar industry and a key to Ghana’s economic development.
She noted that the fashion industry has great prospects as the up and coming designers, as well as those who are already in the business, are working tirelessly to help raise the stakes.
