Former marketer for gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy, Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court following his arrest for making death threats against her.
The bail was set at GH¢2,000, as reported in a social media post shared by UTV.
The video showed KOKA leaving the court premises freely after his release.
KOKA and Ohemaa Mercy's issue was allegedly tied to a financial dispute.
He claimed that Ohemaa Mercy owed him GH¢8,500 and that he wanted to retrieve the money since he would no longer want to work with her.
Having worked with Ohemaa Mercy since 2021, he was apprehended in Accra after the police's multiple attempts to summon him for questioning were unsuccessful.
During the initial court hearing on September 20, 2024, he pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening harm.
He asserted that his intentions were solely to retrieve the money he believed was owed to him and that he had no intention of causing harm.
