Kalsum Sinare Steps Out With Dashing Husband

Unlike other Ghanaian actresses who, though married, are hardly seen in public with their husbands, Kalsum Sinare was at the Silverbird Cinema last Friday with her dashing husband Tony Baffoe, hugging, cuddling, petting and posing for the cameras.

Tony is a former Ghanaian football player and son of an ex-Ghanaian diplomat.

He also played for clubs on four different continents and spent the majority of his career in the German Bundesliga.

Tony and Kalsum, though married for several years, behaved as if they were newly-weds on their honeymoon when they showed up at Silverbird for the actress’s latest movie, ‘Death After Birth’, by Roger Q production.

That was the first time NEWS-ONE had spotted the two together at a premiere and curious minds are still wondering what triggered their decision since Kalsum always attended movie premieres without Tony.

Their love life is one that is worthy of emulation by rising celebrities. Despite the pressures of marriage, they have managed to overcome the odds to maintain their relationship. Indeed, marriages of some of Kalsum’s pals in Nollywood have hit the rocks at least once or twice; but Kalsum is still with her man.

The two tied the knot in 1994 and have three children; two handsome boys Shaquille and Boukeem, and one pretty girl, Kershira.

She once told NEWS-ONE that she and Tony were still as ‘tight’ as they were when they met many years ago.

“I am always kind and loving to my husband and children and so is my husband,” she said.

She added that her acting career didn’t affect her marriage in anyway.

“My husband is ok with it, because he himself is in showbiz and he understands. If I take a role, sometimes I discuss it with him and he never complains.”

Kalsum met Tony when she was shooting her very first movie, ‘Out Of Sight, Out Of Love.’ It is however not clear if they meet on set.

Kalsum once said even at the time they started dating, she chose very ‘hot’ roles that sometimes involved kissing but Tony was not disturbed by those roles.

“I don’t think kissing now would bother him because our bond is too tight now for him to be upset about it.”

Kalsum is a household name and also admired in several countries.

She has been in the showbiz industry since 1985, after she completed her secondary education at Accra High School. She had her basic education at St. Michael’s International School in Osu. She was later introduced to modeling by Nora Bannerman. She also took part in the Miss Ghana contest in 1989 and became a runner-up.

She had the opportunity to represent Ghana in the Miss World contest held in Taiwan and also won Miss Model of Africa.

Afterward, due to her love for drama, she joined Captain Nkrabeah Efah Dartey’s Theatre Mirrors and did countless stage performances.

Later, she met one Ebo Banson who urged her to try film acting. She went for some auditioning and later got a role in her first movie, ‘Out Of Sight, Out Of Love’.
