Kalybos and Orkman celebrate Mother’s Day at Children’s Hospital

Award winning Ghanaian comic-actor, Richard Kwadwo-Asante popularly known as Kalybos, joined the rest of the world, on Sunday 13th May, 2018 to acknowledge the significant roles mothers have over the years played in the lives of their children.

The actor, a brand ambassador of Orkman Limited, importers of high quality electronics and other household needs led a delegation of the company, to settle medical bills worth over GHC 5000 of some selected needy mothers on admission at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.

The delegation to the surprise of staff and management of the hospital presented 50 bags of rice, 30 cartons of cooking oil, 30 cartons each of nutritious kris and coconut milk as well as 3 air conditioners for the lacking emergency and laboratory units’ worth over GHC 30.000.

Officials of the Orkman Limited also made another cash donation of GHC 10.000 to support the facility's Needy Fund to settle medical bills of less privilege who can’t afford to pay for some selected treatments.
Senior officials at the facility, who received the donation expressed shock at the cash and items donated and thanked Kalybos and officials of Orkman Limited for the wonderful gesture done for them.

They said it was not easy for individuals and companies to voluntarily make an investment in the hospital and therefore the Almighty God replace abundantly what they had lost in this act of kindness.

Mr. Christian Orkamani, CEO of Orkman Limited said the gesture forms part of company's annual social-cooperate responsibility to support the less privilege.
He charged the hospital administration to put the items donation into its rightful use and more shall follow in the coming days.



On his part, the “John & John” actor said it was honor to be part of the exercise and wished to be part of many of such events.

Kalybos as usual share a couple of jokes with mothers and children on admission at the hospital.
An elated Kalybos also said “it has always been my passion to make people laugh and to see both mother and child smiling today for this occasion makes me feel happier”.
