Indigenous beverages giant Kasapreko Company Limited on Thursday hosted Ghanaian music stars at a fun-filled event to mark successful elections by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

The event which was held at the Oak Plaza Hotel is also part of the beverage maker’s efforts to usher in the new MUSIGA executives and celebrate musicians in the country.

Veteran musicians AB Crensil, Ben Brako, Besa Simons, Paulina Oduro, Tagoe Sisters among others graced the event night with live performances of their hit songs.

Contemporary musicians, Samini, Tic Tac and Obour also kept the night lively with renditions of their old and new songs.
Founder and Group Chairman of Kasapreko Company Limited, Dr Kwabena Adjei, said the event was to make Ghanaian musicians appreciated.

“Because we have used music all our lives, when we are happy we use music when we are sad we use music so we want to forge a united front with MUSIGA and also all musicians,” Dr Adjei said.
He however hinted that there would be more collaboration with musicians in the future.

Re-elected President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffuor, said his leadership would sustain their long term relationship with Kasapreko for mutual benefits.
He also used the feast to say that unity in the Union will not wane despite attacks on his person by some members.

Obour was reacting to a recent comment by failed union President hopeful, Gyedu Blay Ambuley that Obour masterminded fraudulent elections that earned his re-election.

Gyedu Blay Ambolley, a highlife legend, alleged recently that the October 31 election was not free and fair.
Obour said although Ambolley’s comments impede efforts at cohesion, he is unperturbed.

“As a leader, you must be prepared to hear a lot of these comments because it is a test of your anger and your patience as well. As a leader I hear these comments but God has given me a big heart to hear these comments,” he said.
