Ghanaian singer and former signee of Highly Spiritual Music, Kurl Songs, has emphasised that his former record label boss, the legendary music producer, Kaywa, has no hand in his inability to produce hit songs.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Okay FM on Friday, August 9, 2024, Kurl Songs revealed that he has a fantastic relationship with his former boss.

Although the singer acknowledged that his exit from the label has negatively affected the ascension of his career, he described claims by some critics that Kaywa has a hand in the decline of his music success as ridiculous.

According to him, his former boss relates to him as a father would a son.

He said, “Oh it has, my exit from Highly Spiritual Music has affected my music. I mean, if I am being very frank about it, it has affected my music career.

“I am not saying this to earn favor in the sight of anyone, or that I want someone to take a liking to me, but I have a great relationship with my father [Kaywa], and therefore I highly doubt he would purposely orchestrate my downfall. He calls me son.”

Explaining his inability to release a hit song in recent years, Kurl Songs mentioned that he is not going to blame anyone for his current situation but himself.

He said, “When it comes to why I am not making hit songs again, I will blame it on myself and not anyone else.”
