Ghanaian gospel icon Ohemaa Mercy has cautioned up-and-coming gospel artistes to be selective in who they choose to keep in their close circles.

Speaking in an interview with 3FM on August 16, 2024, Ohemaa Mercy highlighted the importance of discernment, which she says would help identify genuine supporters versus those who may become enemies.

"You need to have a spirit of discernment to know who is in to help you and who is in to destroy you.

“For me, I have had a lot of experience when it comes to people that come around, and at the end, they turn into enemies,” she said.

She further urged up-and-coming gospel artistes to avoid imitating others and instead focus on their unique calling.

“Are you called? This is a big ministry that you need to understand why you are called. You need to understand and know where God has positioned you to move with it and not copy from other people," she added.

Ohemaa Mercy also announced plans to organize a program in December to inspire young gospel artistes to understand their ministry and calling.

Additionally, her flagship worship concert, TEHILLAH Experience, is set for September 8, 2024 in Accra.

The event, themed "Tehillah the Bethel Experience," will feature performances by Nigerian gospel stars Ebuka Songs and Abbey Ojomu, alongside Ghanaian icons like MOGmusic, Nacee, Piesie Esther, Ceccy Twum, Mama Esther, Kofi Owusu Peprah, and Rama Antwi.
