The Most Reverend Charles Gabriel Palmer- Buckle, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church has said in the first time he met Charles Kofi Bucknor, he mistook him for a fresh student and made an attempt to ‘homo’ him.

The Archbishop said this at the memorial service organized to bid farewell to Mr Bucknor as the legendary actor makes his eternal journey home.

Reverend Palmer-Buckle said in 1970, when he took his younger brother to St. Augustines College in Cape Coast, he met Kofi Bucknor who thought he was a new student and wanted to play the popular ‘homo’ prank on him, but for the timely intervention of a senior who knew who he (Reverend Palmer Buckle) was.

“It all started in 1970, in St. Augustine’s school where I brought my junior brother to form one. I bumped into a good looking young chap with fine afro hair who tried to ‘homo’ me. Hey ‘homo’ tsentsen, bra ha, he said. I walked slowly towards him with a smile on my face. But before he could visit the usual student prank on me, I heard a voice yell at him from behind me: “herrh Jude, kaawoho fi ho,ehwe a iyi oye homo a”? Archbishop Palmer-Buckle recounted.

He said since then they became friends and that led him to meet other members of the Bucknor family.
