Kofi Mole finally has a cause to smile as his song 'Don't Be Late' has been nominated for Hip-hop Song Of The Year in the 21st edition of the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMA).
The Board of the Vodafone Music Awards has released the list of nominees for all 21 categories after weeks of reviews.
It could be recalled how the young champ, Kofi Mole felt sidelined in the 2019 VGMA when his hit song 'Mensah' which featured Kwesi Arthur wasn't nominated in the Hip-pop Song Of The Year category despite the massive airplay it received.
“I think I should have been nominated in the Hip-hop Song Of The Year [category] for ‘Mensah’, which featured Kwesi Arthur, Best New Artiste Of The Year because I think I did a lot of work that I should have been given that recognition and Rapper Of The Year Category. I should have been there," said Kofi Mole in an interview on Class 91.3FM in 2019.
Kofi Mole during his performance at the just ended Pent Hall Week Aloha 2020 kept on chanting these words; "are you ready to listen to the Hip-Hop song of the Year?". Fans of Mole who were overly excited about his nomination couldn't help but sing along as he performed 'Don't Be Late'.
The 'Aporso Gangster' has to battle it out with the likes of Sarkodie, Medikal, Eno Barony, Strongman among others who have also been nominated in the same category to finally claim the title.
