All is set for the maiden edition of ‘Hero Concert’, a musical show aimed at treating patrons to good highlife music with the end game being the quest to leverage the genre and foster music tourism.

Expected to come off on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, the event powered by SLIP Entertainment, in partnership with Lynx Entertainment, will see Kuami Eugene – an artiste under the latter’s label – and legendary Rex Omar perform.

“It’s just to throw more light on highlife music and remind us of songs we’ve not been singing and listening to radio anymore. For some time now, I’ve been screaming ‘highlife music’ in my songs and we needed to confirm something. Our era is not like first where it was all about highlight. Now we have more genres fighting our music,” said Kuami Eugene.

At a presser in Accra, Chief Executive Officer of SLIP Entertainment, Mark Okraku-Mantey, mentioned that ‘Hero Concert’ will be a yearly event where various veterans are celebrated. He noted that Kuami Eugene will always be the headliner and would decide which ‘hero’ he would want to perform with.

“It is two and no other person. When it comes to celebrities performing on the night, it’s going to be just two – Kuami Eugene and who he chooses to perform with,” the SLIP Entertainment boss stated.

The concert is scheduled to start at 7 pm. Rate is GHC100.
