Kubolor invites Kwaw Kese for marijuana drink

Ghanaian Rapper Kwaw Kese who claims to be on a drug abstinence track appears to have found himself in what could be likened to the Biblical Story of Jesus Christ after he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the Judean Desert.

Following his arrest over smoking marijuana, and subsequent remand in prison, the self-acclaimed ‘King of the Street’ hip-life artiste resolved to stay away from drugs. He started a campaign – Say No To Drugs- to that effect.

It, however, appears that the more the Abodam star tries to stay away from drugs, especially marijuana - which has left a court case hanging on his neck- the more the multiple award winner is drawn to the illegal substance.

Kwaw was first put to test on January 26, when the Ghana’s Black Stars beat South Africa’s Bafana-Bafana to book a quarterfinal slot in the just-ended African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Moments after the game ended, the rapper tweeted: “They made it #Blackstars” to which two of his followers teasingly responded: “One Roll for them or nah?” and “Shall we roll a joint? In public??”

Kwaw, who is bent on staying free from drugs, turned down the invitation as he quickly replied with another tweet: “Masa I beg”; which was apparently the title of his new single he was working on. The track, released on February 23, chronicles his brush with the law over his arrest.

Well, it appears the temptation for the hip-life hit maker to go back to smoking marijuana is far from over as he has received a second invitation. His contemporary, Wanlov Da Kubolor, has in what appears to be a tease tweet, invited Kwaw Kese for a “marijuana drink”.

The controversial Afro-gypsy musician tweeted from Germany a picture of himself drinking a Swiss Original Cannabis Ice Tea to Kwaw Kese with the caption: “Chale, Kwaw Kese you are invited”.

Unlike in the previous incident, although Kwaw Kese did not respond to the tweet by Wanlov, he retweeted it on his timeline.

Kwaw Kese might have survived these two temptations but will there be a third just like Jesus Christ was faced with, and can he survive it like Jesus did?

For his fans, the hope is that these temptations are not taken beyond social media.
