Kumawood Stars stranded; may not travel to Brazil for World Cup

It is often said that what is rightfully yours will always come knocking at your door but forcefully taking a thing that is not yours does not make you the owner and that is the exact situation a list of Kumawood actors and producers are faced with at the moment.

Earlier when the Sports Ministry of Ghana unveiled a list of celebrities to act as ambassadors for Ghana at the ongoing world cup in Brazil, Kumawood was never happy and expressed dissatisfaction at the news as no one from that sector of the movie industry was involved.

They then found their own way of making it to Brazil by securing an undisclosed deal with a non governmental organization known as Sports Education and Management which has now fallen on rocks.

As it stands, the list of Kumawood stars billed to travel to Brazil for the world cup are still stranded in their own soil as the non governmental agency which promised to foot their bills is yet to honour the promise. The group which was to travel to Brazil on Saturday at 10pm were still in Ghana as at 12pm on Monday, June 16.

According to reports, the non-governmental organization Sports Education and Management which promised to sponsor their trip to Brazil is yet to pay for the cost involved as they have not been able to raise the required amount of $10,000 per person and were asking for donors to help foot the entire cost of their travel.

Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin is however in the states where he premiered his latest movie, “Made in Agege”.
