Morning show gem, Kwaku Owusu Adjei known in media circles as Patoo takes over from celebrated broadcaster Fiifi Banson as the new host of ‘Anopa Kasapa’ on Kasapa 102.5Fm.
At a brief handing over ceremony live on air, Banson, whose three-year contract with the media empire, EIB Network has ended commended Kwaku Owusu Adjei for holding the fort with great interviews anytime he was out of town.
Patoo, now the morning show host of ‘Anopa Kasapa’ brings a lot to bare with his vast experience in the radio industry. His presentation just few weeks after taking over the baton as the new host has been awesome and impressive.
Having worked as a morning show host almost throughout his media career, the Kasapa morning show job was going to be an extension of his 19 years journey that has been beautiful in many breadths.
Kwaku Owusu Adjei started off as a Dj at Dormaa Fm in the Brong Ahafo Region and later moved to join the then growing sky Fm also in the same Region. At Sky Fm, he hosted the morning show for a short period. Indeed, he has worked with a number of radio stations in the country which includes Space Fm; Classic Fm, Boss Fm (Kumasi), Storm Fm (Sunyani), Moonlight Fm (Sunyani); he also worked with Multimedia for about four (4) months and later left to join EIB Network, where he has been till date.
At moonlight Fm he was the General Manager and doubled up later as a morning show host for two (2) years.
And in the first few weeks of his being on air, Patoo has justified why the morning show host position was just what he needed to chart a new career path.
The proud father of two boys, is also the host of ‘Nyansapo’ on Agoo Tv, a political/current affairs show which airs from Monday to Friday from 6pm to 7:30pm.
In the media landscape, he looks up to Kwami Sefa Kayi, Kwaku Sakyi Addo and the late Komla Dumor as his mentor because of how passionate and committed they are about what they do.
Having been around for many years, Patoo knows all too well that in order to build something unique he would need the support of a solid team. That has been catered for.
The morning show production team is made up of a great pool of talents who themselves had made a name on urban radio prior to joining Kasapa FM. Kojo Preko Dankwa, and Emmanuel Ohemeng are behind what has so far been praised as a strong morning show force. The two have shaped and properly defined Kwaku Owusu Adjei and Accra’s morning in the last few weeks.
On Anopa Kasapa, listeners get served with that feel of radio being different for a good cause. They experience how radio can be used to get real time results and get treated to a decent flow of conversations that set the agenda, and builds into the general positioning of working for the people.
In the next few years, Kwaku Owusu Adjei would want to see Anopa Kasapa being a reference point for morning shows. He wants a show that endears itself to the growing community of listeners he is building. And that he says is achievable.
Kwaku Owusu Adjei, born Patrick Owusu Adjei on 8th June 1977 to Mr. Jones Owusu and Mrs Felicia Owusu (COCOBOD, Cocoa services division) hails from Japekrom in the Brong Ahafo Region. He had his primary and junior secondary Education in Jinijini also in the Brong Ahafo region; from there, he moved to Wesley College where he studied to become a professional teacher. His moniker ‘Patoo’ evolved out of the name Patrick.
