Kwame Dzokoto`s weight in our showbiz industry can never be underestimated as he has proven beyond all reasonable doubts that when it comes to his delivery in any field of our industry, he will excel without an apology.
The fact that Ghana has not awarded his efforts in many years does not mean he is not recognized in what he is doing.
Areas that Kwame Dzokoto, who is currently the host of Edziban on Tv3 and doubles as the General Manager of Pluzz 89.9FM, an Accra-based radio station as well as acting, radio broadcasting, TV host, voice overs, and Commercial Content Developer for both radio and TV.
Though it was in the news that he attempted a political position in the Western region, it is not too clear how far he went.
Leaving that discussion for another day.
Meanwhile, one information that broke the hearts of listeners of Pluzz FM last Thursday on their Drive Time programme, 'Sunset G.A', hosted by the evergreen Nana Otu Gyandoh is the revelation that Dzokoto is not prepared and ready to be on radio soon as a programme host.
His reasons as he told Nana Otu Gyandoh, who also doubles as the Content and Programmes Co-ordinator of Pluzz 89.9fm were, “I see radio as a calling and not a profession or a hobby.
In our days on radio, it was not as if we learnt to do it but it was more or less like a spiritual possession.""It was in our blood. You do it like you are possessed by the profession but the secret is that I am a very busy person these days with lots of projects on my mind so it makes it difficult to add radio to what I am doing."
He continued, “You know radio comes with serious production and that alone demands more time that I may not have, and that might affect my productivity if I should come on radio. So what I am doing is to give the opportunity to the younger ones who are coming into also try their chances in the same profession which has made me who I am today."
"Meanwhile, I am contemplating on may be getting some weekend thing once a while but even with that it is not too clear, so let`s say Dzokoto is off the radio scene until further notice” Dzokoto told Pluzz FM listeners.
When phone lines were activated for people to interact with the Edziban host, that was when it became evident that people were heartbroken with the information.
Most of the callers who phoned in were not excited with the information because according to them, they will be missing a lot from the man they so loved on radio and television.
