Landlady goes naked before male tenant

Accra (Greater Accra) - In an attempt to prove her innocence in a theft case, an Accra landlady stripped before her accuser who is also her tenant. The tenant has accused her of stealing his belongings. The unusual behaviour of the landlady, Madam Esi Solomon, a resident of Israel near Abeka Lapaz however did not impress her accuser. If anything it served to reinforce his conviction that the landlady really stole the items.

However, it was when the landlady took the law into her own hands and bit off a large chuck of flesh from the chest of the tenant, Mr Richard Antwi, that issues really came to a head, bringing the police into the case. The story was told by a Police Officer who was prosecuting Madam Solomon at the Amasaman Community Tribunal on Monday, 24 June 2002.

According to Mr Antwi when he invited the landlady into her room to prove the case of theft, she refused and said she and her children are not thieves. The prosecutor also told the tribunal that, after some few minutes, Madam Solomon rained insults on Mr Antwi and later stripped before him in an attempt to curse him. The landlady, the tribunal was told, allegedly grabbed Mr Antwi shirt firmly, tore it and bit his chest, taking away a large chuck of flesh while blood oozed from the wound.

Mr Antwi said in spite of the pains he was going through, he mustered courage, chased his landlady and collected part of his torn shirt and singlet from her. Mr Antwi, the tribunal was told then reported the case to the Tesano Police the same day and Madam Solomon was arrested. She was charged with assault and causing bodily harm. She had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge and the court has granted her ? l million.
