Live on the Terrace on Tuesday 21st January, 2014 brings to you a rare musical performance by Nana Asante.
In addition to being a lawyer, Nana Asante is a playwright, screenwriter, songwriter and musician whose works have been showcased locally and internationally.
Nana has written many songs and regularly sat in with musicians in various lounges and clubs in New York City.
His play “Spade Cooley” was featured at the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop in Harlem, New York and was subsequently produced at a theatre festival Off-Broadway. His monologue “Ama Kano” was also showcased at the Dramatist Guild and received solid reviews in the Village Voice newspaper.
He was co-founder of the Claude McKay Society, a literary society of young poets in New York City and also read his poetry at various poetry festivals in New York City.
