Lord Kenya Still Creating Waves

Lord Kenya There seems to be no end to what rap heavyweight champion Lord Kenya can do ? the guy is indeed a Maestro!

Anyone who thought the gorgeous musician has lost it when it comes to stagecraft should have been at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi during the middle zone event of Miss Ghana 2004, The New Face.

He appeared on stage as a royal and left on a motor bike much to the amazement of the audience. No, not that they have not seen people appear on stage on motor bikes but this one was spectacular by all standards.

Lord Kenya kept everybody on their feet with a superb collection of some of his songs compiled by a gentleman known in showbiz circles as Dan. The contestants who ordinarily would have resist the music from Lord Kenya, how could they anyway? With hits like Mr POP, Sika Baa, Medo, a song that topped the charts for 30 weeks in 2002.

At present, the handsome father of two (Junior and Nana Kojo) is busy in the studio doing something exclusive for the impending presidential and parliamentary elections.

Lord told this reporter ?this particular song means a lot to me. We as Ghanaians are enjoying peace and I believe we should sustain it.? A number of radio presenters have laid hands on the instrumental and it seems to have won the hearts of listeners already.

Lord Kenya just returned from Nigeria where he held two shows both of which this reporter learnt were very well attended, and was a great success.

Lord Kenya is about to go into film production, the first of which will be shot in October this year.

This is by the kind courtesy of Mr Augustine Oteng-Kusi, a young businessman, who loves movies and believes that Ghanaians can make it given the necessary support.

It will be directed by Kwaku Sintim-Misa who will be assisted by Ivan Quashigah, Yaw Frimpong Boakye, Kwasi Ahiagble and a host of other gurus in the local industry. The film a Ghana-Nigerian collaboration will see the likes of Zack Orji, Fred Amugi, Genevieve Nnaji, Doris Sackitey, Emeke Ike, Brew Riverson Jnr, Irene Opare, Ramsey Noah, Kwami Sefa Kayi, Pascaline Edwards and a host of others.

The film will be shot in Ghana and will be edited by George Arton-Tettey. With all these people on board, and a team of professionals one cannot see how this will not be a box office hit.

Lord expressed genuine gratitude to all those who have come on board to support him, ?You won?t believe this but many individuals and organizations have come on board and I am very thankful to God for making it all possible, ?

He also thanked Mr Augustine Oteng-Kusi of Victoryline (Accra and Kumasi), Simbins Furniture, Ladies Paradise, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Allure Beauty Palour, Alisa Hotel, Flosid Hotel (Kumasi), PKOG, MKOGH. Stitches N Style, Ben Sam, Lynette Clothing, Aunty Lizzy Wigs Collection and Golden Tulip Hotel, he added.
