Former Ghanaian Hip-life artiste, now evangelist Lord Kenya, has announced the final burial rites for his father Nana Akpor Kainyah.
The esteemed Chief of the Nzema Community of Ashanti and Brong Ahafo passed away at the age of 78.
Nana Akpor Kainyah died on November 5, 2023, while on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
A special memorial service was held on November 19, 2023, at the Appiadu Durbar Grounds in Kumasi to honour his memory.
A renowned timber merchant from Baku-Nzema, Nana Akpor Kainyah played a significant role in the life of his son, Lord Kenya, who overcame alcohol and drug addiction to become an evangelist.
In a TikTok video released on July 28, 2024, Lord Kenya called for support during this difficult time, highlighting his father's dedication to his ministry and the impact he had on his life.
In his tribute, Lord Kenya expressed deep gratitude for his father's unwavering support, stating, "My father has been the one who has supported me all my life. I would not be where I am without him."
The ceremonies will commence with the lying in state on Wednesday, 7th August 2024, at his residence in Apeo, near the Apem Pentecost Church.
The interment will take place privately on Thursday, 8th August 2024 and the final funeral rites are scheduled for Saturday, 10th August 2024.
A thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, 11th August 2024.
