Mona Scott-Young is a successful talent manager, executive producer, published author, and CEO/Founder of Monami Entertainment (www.monamient.com). The multimedia entertainment company is home to Grammy Award-winning artist Missy Elliott, direct to consumer platform Monami Direct, and VH1’s most popular docu-franchise, Love & Hip Hop which has been on air for more than a decade.

Although she is visiting Ghana on a family holiday during the Year of Return festivities, she has taken time to meet with local entrepreneurs, business executives and media to explore opportunities to grow Monami Entertainment in Ghana and throughout Africa.

Scott-Young's visit to Ghana follows the recent appearance of Love & Hip Hop's most famous cast member, Cardi B who performed in Nigeria and Ghana earlier this month.

Over the weekend she hosted a private champagne reception at Versace Collection at Kempinski Hotel which was attended by personalities such as Yandy Smith (former Love & Hip Hop cast), Vanessa Gyan, Agnes Ntow (YFM), model/entrepreneur Belinda Baidoo, real estate developer Kofi Anku, impact investor, Amma Gyampo, and attorney Nana Ama Dowuona. The reception was coordinated by WaxPrint Media.

"Although I am here in Ghana on holiday, I couldn't resist the opportunity to engage and meet with local business owners and media as I plan on expanding to the Africa content very soon. I'm looking forward to tasting the food of Ghana, listening to the music and meeting as many people as possible. I also recently conducted a DNA test through AfricanAncestry to discover my true African heritage so to be here at this time with my family and knowledge of my roots, is truly wonderful," says Scott-Young.

Guests at the reception enjoyed champagne cocktails provided by Lanique Spirit of Rose. Scott-Young and her family also patronized the shops of Ghanaian owned designers Chocolate, Kua, New Afropolitan, and Polished which are located at The Galleria.

Scott-Young will be in Ghana until 3rd January and will also a host a Taste Brunch at Fatfish Restaurant.
