Highlife heavyweight Daddy Lumba (DL) did just two of his repertoire at business tycoon Kennedy ‘Cappuccino’ Agyapong’s New Year bash but succeeded in getting almost everybody to the dancing floor.
He set the tempo with his ‘Sika’ (Money) track which saw his admirers at the poolside, the bar, upstairs, balcony, lobby and those close to the giant stage at Mr Agyapong’s much talked about sleek residence watching and listening with keen interest.
Even before his introductory song faded away, the merrymakers requested for the ever popular ‘Yen tie obiaa’ track, which he delivered with precision with support from the Final Mix band.
It took the well-arranged with good instrumentation ‘Yen tie obia’, whose video was incidentally shot at the party venue and dedicated to Kenpong, to draw would-be couple Cappuccino and Mona Moutrage to the floor.
The love birds danced intimately with support from close relations—Mr Mochacho Moutrage and Fatima Moutrage (Parents of Mona)—and friends who hailed the couple from start to finish.
Before Lumba mounted the stage, Kofi Nti had done some of his collections— ‘Rakiah’, ‘Break’, ‘Kasa Ma Me Nte Wo Ne’, ‘Men Sei Da’ etc—as well as Lumba’s.
Kwasey Pee also passed through as well as R2bee’s Mouges, who shook the foundation of the premises with his spirited performance after doing ‘Dome preko’ and other tracks.
Great personalities from the law, political, boxing, soccer, acting, modelling and security fraternities as well as other government agencies thronged Kenpong’s Airport West premises to grace the well attended and well organised event emceed by Peace FM’s Mickey Darling.
The jamboree, which has become a permanent feature on the calendar of Kenpong Group of Companies, went deep into the following day.
