Lydia Forson Bounces Back

Lydia Forson BEAUTIFUL ACTRESS Lydia Forson is back in the news again. This time, it is not about her Best Actress triumph alongside Jackie Appiah and Naa Ashorkor Doku at the just-ended Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) but rather, her style, with emphasis on her hair.

Lydia has opened up to NEWS-ONE about her hairstyle, saying it is not only a unique feature about herself, but an identity she keeps.

The Jennifer Hudson look-alike likes to keep her natural hair with spikes. Most often, she highlights her hair to match her outfits for each occasion. This has, within a very short while, distinguished her from a number of her colleagues in the industry.

Barely three weeks ago, Nollywood actress Uche Jombo, during a conversation with Lydia and Desmond Elliot, openly expressed her admiration for the ‘Sting In A Tale’ leading lady’s coif, saying “I like it”.

Interestingly, Lydia says she doesn’t even have a name for her hairstyle.

“I have no name for it. Honestly, everything I do to my hair is never planned. I just get up and get my hair done. But once a while I go to the salon to wash it and spray it. I like to do things my own way and I like stuff that make me comfortable,” she told NEWS-ONE.

According to her, she used to keep her hair long but had to cut it because she was uncomfortable with it and besides she needed to do something unique she could be easily identified with.

“I do things naturally and I don’t do what everybody is doing. That has been part of me since I was a kid. Every hairstyle I do, I don’t plan it. I just get up and cut the hair to suit myself. I just like being different.”

During the premiere of ‘Perfect Picture’ a year ago at the National Theatre in Accra, the actress’ hairstyle was one of the side attractions at the event. But she says it is not expensive to get the style because it is natural.
