MUSIGA Donates To Highlife Legend CK Mann

Ace musician, CK Mann had been reportedly ill for some time now. Some Executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Takoradi.

The delegation was headed by the 2nd Vice president of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons, the Welfare Chairman, Mr Owusu, Paulina Oduro, an Executive Member and the Western Regional Chairman, Rev Mrs. Letitia Anim Wiredu.

Briefing the delegation about his illness, CK Mann recounted how he felt severe pains in his neck and waist which made him incapable of walking. He had been going for medical treatment and was put on medication and had to go for an injection to ease the pain.

Coincidentally, he happened to be watching a TB Joshua healing service on TV and felt the sudden urge to go to Nigeria to meet the man of God. This he did with the help of friends and family.

Upon arrival in Nigeria, he traced his steps t the Church of TB Joshua where after a while of service, he received his healing. All the stiffness immediately went away and he began to sing instantaneously. After the healing and prayer session, he said he asked the man of God to say special prayers for all Ghanaian Musicians.

On the donation MUSIGA made to him, which was presented to him by the Western Regional Chairperson, the seemingly active old musician praised the current administration of MUSIGA.

He intimated that indeed he had his own misgivings about the youthfulness of the current President and whether he could perform but sitting back and witnessing his energy, he was full of praise for the young President and his current crop of Executives as well. He thanked MUSIGA profusely for coming to his aid and contributing to his medical aid.

He took the delegation through some of the formative years of MUSIGA where he mentioned Faisal Helwani, King Bruce and others for their vision of setting up and the Union and again praised Obour for living up to expectation and beyond.

The donation to CK Mann was courtesy of the Welfare Fund which was set up by MUSIGA in the early part of the year. Members make monthly contributions to the fund so in case of emergency, a relief amount is made available to them. The Union has purchased a bus to be used for commercial purposes. Proceeds from this will be put in the MUSIGA Welfare Fund.
