Mac Tontoh & The Kids To Set Cape Coast Ablaze

Mac Tontoh
Mac Tontoh and The Kids will stage another cultural musical festival at the Centre for National Culture in Cape Coast as part of activities to promote Ghanaian culture in the youth of today. The festival is expected to attract all the school children in both first and second cycle institutions in the Cape Coast municipality, as well as people from all walks of life who have the country?s culture at heart.

According to a statement signed and issued by the publicity secretary for Mac Tontoh and the Kids, the event is going to be a nation-wide programme. The Greater Accra Region has already had its share of the event, which was held, at the Osu Presby Church Hall in Accra a few weeks ago.

In a chat, Mac Tontoh disclosed that the main aim of the cultural awareness project was to assist the youth in the country to learn more about ?our tradition and culture?. He hinted that he was using the event to also help the youth to develop interest in Ghanaian culture instead of that of the West. An ambassador of Mac Tontoh and the Kids cultural awareness project, Nana Kwabena Baah Boakye noted that the time has come for children to take culture very seriously in order to sustain and project the country?s heritage.

Nana Baah Boakye who is also campaigning for the  re-introduction of Cultural Stiudies in our schools, declared that there would be a bright future for the preservation and repacking of our culture, if children are encouraged to see their heritage as a pride.
