Magyengo Dancers Eye International Stage

GHANAIAN DANCE group, Magyengo Dancers is showing promise with its efforts to make a debut on the international scene soon.

Agyemang Prempeh, the CEO of Magyengo Dancing School from which the Magyengo dance group came, told BEATWAVES that the group is not only poised to make a huge impact on Ghana’s music scene this year, it is also striving to put measures in place to fulfill their international dreams.

According to him, as the group marks the beginning of the New Year and plans towards their dreams, they are set to showcase some unique dance moves to stir up the industry.

The dance group of ten talented girls has been in Ghana’s entertainment scene for quite some time.

For the past three years they have contributed immensely towards the development of gospel music videos and stage performances. They have also appeared on many shows and gospel music videos.

During the 2008 general elections, the group shot videos for the campaign songs of the two big parties; the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Party (NDC).

They have also strongly supported all gospel artistes that passed through TV3’s Music Music show during its early stages.

The Magyengo dancers are led by Matilda Agyeman, who has featured in videos of gospel giants Grace Ashy, Christiana Love, Kweku Gyasi, Ohemaa Mercy and Ophelia Nyantakyi, among others.
