Man Dies After Drinking Spree

What began as a drinking spree for a driver and his brother-in-law ended up in a bizzaire incident when the driver, Yaw Dozen gave his in-law, Kwaku Abrantee a blow that ended his life. Yaw and Kweku are reported to have decided to have a good time on July 19 and therefore went drinking from one bar to the other at Pankrono in Kumasi.

As they kept increasing their alcohol intake, a quarrel ensued between them resulting in a fight. In the course of the fight, Abrantee opened a deep cut on the mouth of Yaw with a blow.

The two were however separated but Yaw’s friends started teasing him for allowing Abrantee to hurt him. In apparent reaction to the teasing, Yaw re-engaged Abrantee in another fight. In the process, Yaw gave Abrantee a heavy blow that sent him falling on his back. Abrantee collapsed and was pronounced dead on arrival at a private clinic.

Chief Inspector Djamah of Old Tafo Police Station confirmed the incient. Yaw has been placed in custody pending further investigations while the body of Abrantee has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
