Man Jailed for Defiling Two Children

A nineteen year old labourer Wisdom Kumakpata, a has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment with hard labour by a Circuit Tribunal in Accra for defiling two little girls aged six and seven.

Inspector E. T. Boison told the Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Imoru Ziblim that the accused person and the complainants are co-tenants at Frafraha at Madina a suburb of Accra. He said the father of one of the victims bought her a pair of shoes, which she lost.

On April 6, this year, the father said he went to the bush to cut some chewing sticks and saw the sandals there.

When he asked his daughter how the shoes got there, she said the accused took the two of them into the bush and forcibly had sex with them and that is when she left her shoes in the bush.

When the second victim was interrogated, she confirmed the ordeal they had gone through and added that it was not the first time it had happened to them.

The complainants immediately lodged a report at the Madina Police Station and the accused was apprehended and processed before court.

During police investigation into the case, the accused person admitted the offence and was charged with it.

He was found guilty on two counts of defiling two young girls which will run concurrently.
