Man removes tooth with a blow

Tema, Jan. 24, GNA - A man has been granted 20 million cedis bail by the Tema Circuit Court "A" for removing another man's tooth with a hefty blow.

William Bawa pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing unlawful harm and will reappear on February 7, 2005.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Adolphus Otchere told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that on January 12, 2005, two Nigerians, John Obi and Robert Iwu were sharing some money between them, which resulted in verbal fight.

He said the complainant approached them to cool their tempers down, however, the accused, who was at the scene, became annoyed and questioned why the complainant should separate them. The accused then threatened to drive all of them from the dockworkers area, but the complainant advised him to stop.

Inspector Otchere said the accused became angry, and to satisfy this anger, gave a hefty blow that landed on the jaw of the complainant, which forced his tooth out of his mouth.

A report was made to the police, and a medical form was issued to the complainant to go for treatment. 24 Jan. 05
