Popular Ghanaian rapper Medikal known in real life as Sameul Adu Frimpong has made a plea ahead of the VGMA big night.
Medikal has said his last prayer ahead of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards event slated for tonight May 18, 2019.
According to the 'Omo Ada' hitmaker, he does not want history to repeat itself like it happened two years ago.
In an Instagram post that was sighted by YEN.com.gh, Medikal prayed for the best ahead of the much-anticipated awards night. "Vgma today, thanks for your votes, let’s pray 2 years ago’s history doesn’t repeat itself today," he wrote.

Instagram users on reading the post reacted: @kojoincome tipped Medikal to win Rapper of the Year:
"Best rapper, the world go know today, we don’t need award to prove it but let’s go crab this." @vybesa_kestrailerson claimed Medikal deserves to win big: "Beyond kontrol if it happens again this time.dem go shon dey do vgma for Ghana cos u have worked harder for it." @cobo_kay urged Medikal to win awards today: "It will never repeat.
We dey take all today # believe." @rampagejrap had this to say: "What can Come can come. You are the best and we all know." @kechegh wished Medikal a goodluck: "GoodLuck Bro u deserve it today koraaaaaaa."
Medikal's post followed what happened two years ago at the VGMAs when he failed to win a single award. Many fans of the rapper were left surprised as he did not win one award even though he had seven nominations.
But this time, it seems a lot of social media users are throwing their support behind Medikal as they claimed that history will not repeat itself. Many entertainment pundits have tipped the 'Ayekoo' hitmaker to win this year's VGMA Rapper of the Year.
He is competing with Sarkodie, M.anifest, Teephlow, Obibini who are equally qualified to carry the enviable award. However, Medikal seems to have had a good year, releasing one of the year's biggest hit song titled 'Omo Ada.'
