In his new Phil Blak -assisted effort, as he has done with most of his hip-hop numbers, rapper Medikal recounts his though come-up (including virtually living in an internet café for a month, having to wash vehicles, surviving on little food, and nearly resorting to a life of crime).
Yesu, the daunting record which also sees the AMG act sputter pun and metaphor in the manner of gunfire, arrives only days after How Much (featuring Kwesi Arthur and Ahtitude), and adds to his 2018 spell if singles which also includes Adwee Ba, Talk To Am, For You and Don’t Do Drugs.
The video for Yesu — a one-take piece, is directed by Prince Dovlo, and also preaches determination and resilent in the pursuit of happiness. Yesu is produced by Halm, and presumably precedes a new album.
Born Samuel Adu Frimpong, Medikal released his debut album DISTURBATION last year –a 22-track project which serves widespread hits as Confirm (ft. Sarkodie), Too Risky(ft. Sister Deborah), Gimme Vibe (ft. Stonebwoy), as well as the Ghost (ft. Pappy Kojo). He is also author of Da Medikation mixtape (2016).
