The Presidential Candidate of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change and Founder and Leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has selected a running mate to back him to victory in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

His choice is 40-year-old Elijah Kwame Owusu Danso, who is a lawyer by profession and also a broadcaster who worked with Pan African TV. Elijah.

Aside from these two professionals, Elijah was once a hip-hop musician.

GhanaWeb takes a look at his life as a musician.

As a musician, Kwame was called E-Nice and was part of the musical group Echo, which won the 2008 Ghana edition of the Nescafe African Revelation competition.

The group was crowned the winners of the prestigious competition after battling with Too Natural, the 1st runner up, and 3AM, the 2nd runner up, at the event held at the KawuKudi Park in Accra.

After going through all three rounds, which included freestyle, live band, and acapella, the group carried the day like their mentor, Wutah, who won it in 2005.

Echo was a rap duo comprised of two young guys, Charles Yeboah Danso and Elijah Owusu Danso. Charles hails from the Eastern region and Elijah, a Guan, from the Volta region of Ghana.

The group, which was one of the few Ghanaian musicians to have a presence on the Channel O radio countdown, also represented Ghana at the West African finals of the Nescafe African Revelation.

For emerging as winners of the competition in Ghana, Echo took home a GH₵200 prize package, which included, among others, engineering and fees for the recording of an eight-track album and accompanying promotion of their album, production of two music videos, accommodation in a three-bedroom house for one year, a wardrobe, a road manager fee, and NAR shows.

The group was also mandated to be handled by Abraham Ohene Djan’s OM Studios for two years.

Echo subsequently signed a two-year deal with a UK-based label, Boy Entertainment Leo. This was celebrated with a short ceremony at the poolside of the Wangara Hotel in Labone.

Elijah Owusu Danso's group had hit singles like “Gologolo” and "Shikome.”
