Michael Attram was named best male supporting actor at the 2016 edition of Utah Films Awards in the USA on Friday.

He won the award for his performance in Freetown; a film about six Liberian missionaries in Monrovia who were caught in the middle of a brutal civil war.

He beat out equally good actors; Liam Bui (Just Let Go), Nathan Stevens (The Cokeville Miracle) and Jasen Wade (Miracle Maker) for the honor, becoming first Ghanaian actor to win Utah award.

He was nominated for the award, together with Henry Adofo another Ghanaian actor who played the lead in Freetown film.

Michael Attram, a model, is a new actor and the Freetown film is his first major production.

He proved himself as an intense actor who captivates audiences with his sheer presence and steely portrayal of the character. No wonder he has bagged the Utah.
