Ghanaian model, Mirash Davis is one of the contestants for this year’s Revlon Supermodel reality show in South Africa.
The 19-year-old, who was a finalist in last year’s Nokia Face of Africa contest will be competing with 25 other models and will participate in photo shoots, ramp workshops and various makeovers as she attempts to clinch a major international title. The Revlon reality show launched the career of film star, Charlize Theron and is most definitely a launch pad every model looks out for.
But whether she wins the big prize or not, Mirash has already caught the attention of many of South Africa’s fashion bigwigs. She has a contract with Shine Model agency and has been working on several photo shoots, adverts and fashion shows.
She was notably popular with magazine editors in Cape Town during the Face of Africa contest and was described as having the “editorial look”. Mirash stands at 176cm (approx. 5’7”) and was the only model out of the ‘Face of Africa’ lot who was chosen for a photo shoot in last September’s issue of Marie Claire fashion magazine. Curiously, Mirash did not even make it through the initial selection of the models for the Face of Africa show but was called in at the last minute.
Mirash’s definition of beauty is: “someone who is lovely, caring; someone who feels the pain of other people, someone who is welcoming and makes you feel worthy, special and gives you a reason to smile when you are sad.”
