Miss ECOWAS Ghana 2012 visits Hallel School Complex

702 Productions Ltd, the organisers of the Miss ECOWAS Ghana, has adopted Hallel School Complex at Kaneshie in Accra as its ‘pet project.’ This was made known during an official visit by the reigning Miss ECOWAS Ghana peace ambassador, Miss Keshia Ferguson at a durbar held in her honour on Tuesday.

The Corporate Manager of 702 Productions, Nii Amarh Amarteifio, who made the announcement, explained that by the decision, the Company would take keen interest in the wellbeing of the school, “whereby every year, we will come over and help build this great school.”

Miss Ferguson used the occasion to commission two refurbished classroom and also made a donation of items estimated at GHC 2,500 to the school.

The items included: mini bags of rice, stationery, boxes of Indomie Instant Noodles, mats, cups and plates, packs of sachet water, detergents and toilet rolls, among others.

She expressed delight and entreated the enthusiastic pupils of the school to take their studies serious and always be at peace with each other. She also conveyed her appreciation to the Management and Staff of the school for their warm and cordial reception accorded her during the visit.

Mr. Amarteifio recounted the relationship between 702 Productions Ltd and the school dated back to 2010, when the then ECOWAS Peace Ambassador, Ms. Shirley Nwangere, visited the school.

He recounted subsequent Miss ECOWAS Ghana Peace Ambassadors Ms. Ramatu Sidik (2010) and Ms. Josephine Dickson (2011) all visited the school during their reigns.

Mr.Amarteifio, therefore, entreated authorities and pupils of the school to “stand for peace at all times, as that is the surest way to bring about development and unity in our country and the ECOWAS sub-region.”

For her part, the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Patience Lamptey, thanked the Peace Ambassadors and her team for the visit and donation, noting: “It’s been very productive especially for the kids who feel inspired after meeting and interacting with the queen.”

Miss ECOWAS Ghana is an initiative of 702 Productions Limited. The Peace Pageant is organized by 702 Productions Limited, an Accra – based events Management Company, under the auspices of the ECOWAS Commission.

The Pageant is a platform for the continues unification of the people of GHANA for development and growth within a peaceful environment and to showcase different unique cultures of our regions and to create the opportunity and a platform to groom and showcase talent and intellect of the delegates in the sub-region

This year’s Miss ECOWAS Ghana 2013 auditions will be held on Friday, June 14th at the Golden Tulip Hotel Accra and the main event scheduled to be held on Friday, 2nd August, 2013 at the National Theatre.
