It’s finally here, the moment Ghanaians have been waiting for is just a few hours from now.
Tomorrow at the Accra International Conference Centre the national finals of the Miss Malaika Pan-African beauty pageant comes off at a night of glamour, entertainment and great excitement.
In what has been dubbed the search for the "Most Beautiful Girl in Ghana" one lady out of ten finalists will walk down the red-carpet with an enviable title of Miss Malaika Ghana 2003 and get to represent Ghana at the final event in South Africa later in the year. The ten finalists have already been revealed in a variety of activities, in "The Making of Miss Malaika" on TV3 for the past weeks.
The final 10 are: Anita Quarshie, Edna Woadzro, Thelma Tawiah, Bigitta Nortey and Gwenyth Gyimah.
The rest are Gifty Dadson, Yaa Assa Addo-Obiri, Nana Akua Addo, Cornelia Awuah and Dela -Amanda Gadzepko.
The delegates are currently undergoing final preparations for the show, which promises to be a night of glitz, featuring the best artistes from Ghana, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire. On the bill will be a star-studded line-up of artistes including Daasebra Gyamenah, Akyeame, VIP, Nana Quarme, Lord Kenya and Pat Thomas performing their best songs. Also on the same night, for the first time, fans in Accra will experience some thing they have missed in a very long time, a special treat from the new international female R & B sensation, KUSH from Nigeria.
Miss Malaika Ghana, will receive ?20 million personal cash prize, a one-year internship at the Ghana AIDS Commission as AIDS Ambassador.
The winner will also have the use of a Kia Sephia official car with comprehensive insurance from Phoenix Insurance, and a Sony Vega entertainment system. Tickets bought for the event, could win patrons a chance to joining the queen to witness the international event.
