The defunct music group, Mobile Boys, has disagreed on the terms behind their coming together in differently expressed opinions.
Mobile Boys, made up of Kochoko, Nkonya and Gray, one of the groups that made it to the finals of the maiden edition of Nescafe African Revelation, were on the January 24, 2019 edition of the Zylofon’s Showbiz Agenda show to talk about their impending come-back.
Kochoko, who first broke away from the original group, in the interview said he’ll be making his solo music along the group project as he has done a lot of work when they parted ways. He later claimed in the interview that his colleagues told him they were coming together for two tracks for their fans and not to come back as a group.
The other group members who were amazed at their partner’s words expressed their surprise and displeasure at those statements as they all said history is repeating itself. Grey explained that Kochoko made similar statement when Dr. Duncan then of Adom FM granted them their first interview. According to him, Kochoko revealed his individualistic nature in that interview too.
The “Obiaa Ne Ne Ringing Tone” hitmakers did not only disagree on the rationale for their coming together but other issues which made even the host of the show and listeners alike say they are really not ready for the come-back.
They, meanwhile, agreed on the fact that they don’t have a leader to the new group and would prefer a manager to be their leader.
The group in another development alleged that the title for the maiden edition of the Nescafe African Revelation they lost to Praye was stolen from them and KOD together with the other organizers who masterminded the act to the anger of Reggie Rockstone.
He quizzed to emphasize their claim, “why would the eventual winners of the competition be booed after the show and hail us who didn’t win?”
“I’m (making this statement) on radio. There were some underhand dealings (in favor of Praye). I know all of them. KOD is even one of them”, he replied when asked who stole the verdict.
