Popular author and TV show host Michelle McKinney Hammond has cautioned women in relationships with married men not to expect such men to leave their wives for them.

During a live discussion on the Home Affairs show on TV3, Hammond explained that most men who have affairs are not planning to leave their wives. Instead, they seek affairs to fill perceived gaps in their marriages.

“Most men who have affairs are not planning on leaving their wives. They're planning on having an affair to fill in the blanks of whatever it is they feel they're not getting from their wife. But they have no plans of leaving the wife.

"They'll tell you sob stories about the wife to get you thinking that you could be a better wife. But they're not going anywhere. And this is something that you need to learn,” he said.

She warned that even if a man leaves his wife to marry his affair partner, the new wife will be riddled with insecurity.

She pointed out a crucial point about relationships and trust, stating, “If he's cheating with you, he will cheat on you. This is a rule of life."

"You will be on pins and needles for the rest of your life because he cheated with you. And he can cheat again," she added.
