Motia quits music after serving term

Flex newspaper report has it that an ex–convict artiste from The Last Two camp; Motia, who was recently interviewed by Barima Kaakyire Agyemang on Top FM, shared the motivation he has received after his imprisonment terms at Nsawam Prisons.

Prior to his imprisonment, it has positively shaped his life to a better person and has released a single titled, 'Dora,' featuring Kwabena Kwabena on the cover of 'Our Time' album produced by Hammer of The Last Two which he (Motia) was featured on Screwface's 'Maabena' track.

When the host, Barima aka Bro Emma asked what lead to his imprisonment, he responded that he was coming up with a new song centered on the creation of God precisely the creation of mankind. Hence, he needed human skulls for the video.

According to him, he single handily strolled through the Awudome Cemetery in Accra one night around 12am and picked up 3 skulls, 3 leg bones and some other human parts specifically bones that he said were easy to get since most human bones just laid leisurely on the grounds of the cemetery.

He didn't have to dig up a grave or go through much stress.

He indicated that indeed he got the necessary human parts and travelled to Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region of Ghana where his video was supposed to be shot.

Upon joining his team in Koforidua, the human parts triggered fear in most of the members because they wondered how he managed to gather the human parts since the human parts were mostly used for rituals reasons especially for money rituals.

Due to this, one of the guys hinted the police on Motia's indulgence in this unscrupulous act which lead to his 6 months term imprisonment that he describes as a miserable and unbearable period of his life.

He further noted that pleading guilty to the crime aided in shortening his jail term and also his ignorance of the crime was evident because he was not aware of the fact that picking up free body parts from a cemetery could result in his prosecution.

And also later realized that wood carvers could have carved those skulls yet he only tried to be real and authentic, according to him.

Rounding up the interview, Motia announced that he is quitting his music career not only because he had been through hard times but also being vigilant and since there was no help from any industry player and that without a sound financial status, it is difficult to excel in the music industry.
