Movies and more on DStv this week

There is more exciting television viewing this week on DSTV from movies to documentaries. Check out some of the highlights.

Fast Five: Fugitive Dom Toretto partners with former cop Brian O’Conner on the opposite side of the law in exotic Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There they are hunted by a high-powered US strike force led by its toughest Fed and an army of corrupt cops working for a ruthless drug kingpin. To gain their freedom and win this ultimate high-stakes race, they must pull off one last job – an insane heist worth $100 million. DStv audiences can tune into M-Net West on Sunday 20 May 2012 at 22:00 CAT to watch Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson in the action drama.

The Indian Doctor: The Indian Doctor tells the story of Dr Prem Sharma, a high flying Delhi graduate, who arrives in the UK in 1963 as part of the “first wave” of Indian doctors wooed by the then health minister Enoch Powell. DStv audiences can tune into BBC Lifestyle from Friday 18 May at 16:30 and 17:15 CAT to watch this new series. Prem and his wife Kamini want to build a new life for themselves following a family tragedy. But, rather than finding a job as a high-flying consultant in London, Prem finds himself in the Welsh coal mining village of Trefelin, where he quickly starts to realise things are not quite as they should be.

Dirty Harry: Clint Eastwood (Detective Harry Callahan) stars in this story about a maverick cop’s obsessive attempts to bring a cold-blooded serial killer to justice before he kills again. DStv audiences can tune into TCM on Sunday 20 May at 21:00 CAT to watch this classic that made the phrase ‘Go ahead, make my day’ famous.

Hitch: Two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith plays Alex “Hitch” Hitchens, a “date doctor” who, for a fee, guarantees to help any shy, socially unskilled man woo the woman of his dreams – within the space of three dates. But this oh-so-cool professional bachelor runs into a serious hitch when he falls for a tenacious gossip columnist. The only problem is, Hitch is coaching a meek accountant on how to court the same woman. A surefire recipe for fireworks! Hitch is a warm, quirky and thoroughly endearing romantic comedy with several laugh-out-loud moments, with James almost stealing the show in a standout movie debut. Catch it on Wednesday 16 May 20:30 CAT.

My Chapter and Verse: Everyone has a story to tell. Personal tails of triumph or tragedy, through it all we are always left the memories of how these moments impacted our lives. My Chapter and Verse is your story. Share with us the one story that helped shape your life and what you learned from it. Watch it from Sunday 20 May at 19:30 CAT.
