Movies and series on M-Net this September

Its and exciting month for DStv viewers as M-Net brings blockbuster movies and hit TV series to homes across Africa. With the brightest stars and most captivating stories, there will be no dull moments on M-Net this September.

Mother and Child: Almost forty years ago, a young girl of 14 has sex, gets pregnant, and gives her baby up for adoption. Fast-forwarding to the present day, we meet three very different women, each of whom struggles to maintain control of their lives. There’s Elizabeth, a smart and successful lawyer who uses her body to her advantage. Any time she feels that she doesn’t have the upper hand, and cannot control the situation, she uses her sex appeal – whether that is starting a romance with her boss when she suspects he is trying to start one himself, or finding some way to control her overly friendly neighbour and husband. Karen, meanwhile, is a bitter health care professional who obviously has a lot of heart but never shows it. She gave up a daughter at the age of 14, and has never gotten over it. Eat, Pray, Love: Liz Gilbert (Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having – a husband, a house, a successful career – yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. Like Mike: One stormy night, Calvin (Bow Wow) and his friends, who all live an in orphanage, find old shoes with the faded letters ‘MJ’ connected to a power line. They go get the shoes off the power line when Calvin and the shoes are struck by lightning. DStv audiences can tune into M-Net West on Wednesday 28 September 2011 at 02:00 CAT to watch as Calvin suddenly develops instant basketball powers and gets the chance to play for the NBA.

The Whole Truth: This unique legal drama chronicles the way a case is built from the perspective of both the defence and prosecution.
