Mpiani To Be Sacked?

President John Agyekum Kufuor is set to cause the biggest surprise ever this weekend when he announces the sacking of his minister responsible for Presidential Affairs and close confidant, Kwadwo Mpinai. The release of the bombshell could be today, though Mr. Kufuor is tipped by aides to have planned making the announcement on Saturday after returning from the burial of Justice Amua Sekyi, the chairman of the National Reconciliation Commission, in Takoradi.

If Mr. Kufuor does not attend the funeral, he will attend the National awards Ceremony here in Accra, after which he is likely to release the reshuffle list that Mr. Mpiani’s shocker tops. “The President himself has been dropping broad hints of late that he is going to cause a major stir in his Cabinet,” our deep throat government sources said.

“The only possible reason for the President not relieving Mpiani would be that the cat gets out of the bag and he feels his surprise has leaked so he has to change his mind. But surely, it is quite strong on the old man’s cards; Kwadwp is going this time,” she underscored.
