Reigning VGMA Gospel Artiste of the year, Diana Hamilton has said that she has always used music to express her emotions at particular points in life.

In an interview on Angel 102.9FM’s Mid-morning show, Y’Adwuma Nie hosted by DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, Mrs Hamilton said she always use the opportunity to voice out her emotions anytime she is at the recording studio.

“Music is an expression of my emotions, in fact, it is the short hand of my emotions…,” she revealed on the show.

According to her, she composes songs based on ‘what I go through at a particular time.’

She further recounted how the sad experiences she went through when after six years of marriage, she was unable to conceive and give birth.

“My husband saw that I was disturbed but that didn’t bother him but the others around him were very much disturbed…,” she said.

Diana Hamilton recounted how she nearly dropped a line in one of the songs because that line didn’t apply to her.

“God was telling me to sing that she can make the barren give birth to twins but here I was, almost barren and God was telling me to tell people He can do that…I couldn’t sing that line when I went to the studio for the first time…,” she recounted.

According to her, God later asked her if she didn’t believe He was capable of doing that and more.

“So I called the producer and we went back to the studio to record the song again, even this time, I still found it difficult to sing that line but I finally dropped it in the worship version…,” she added.

The musician said she is now happy in her marriage because she has given birth and her career is also improving.
