Dela’s latest video for her single, ‘Let Me Go’ has been rated highly by notable showbiz personalities for its beautiful and Afrocentric nature.
Radio personality and event emcee, Root Eye, who scored the piece 99% when it was up for review on Atinka TV’s Entertainment City, Saturday, intimated that the video is captivating as the images compel the viewer to follow the message of the song.
“It’s a great video. It’s just a beautiful song with beautiful images and such videos always work. It keeps you glued to the screen when watching. It makes you enjoy the song to the end,” he said.
Touching on whether the song is what Dela needs for comeback, Root Eye replied in the affirmative.
“I know Dela for beautiful ballads. She recorded one with Okyeame Quophi and it was a powerful song… We haven’t heard from her for a while; it’d not be too good to switch to something totally different from what we know her for” he said.
Scoring the video 85%, Reggae artiste, Knii Lante also explained that the colours and Dela’s composure were spot on.
“The first thing that struck me was the colors. It’s a very colourful video. I like the fact that it had a lot of wood and African elements which brought the video home. I also like the fact that the director made her really calm. She didn’t look awkward at any point in time,” he noted.
‘Let Me Go’, composed and performed by Dela, with production credit going to Richie of Lynx Entertainment is the songstress’ first single after taking a break from music.
The video was directed by Prince Dovlo and talks about tepid love relationships.
