Bisa KDei says his hit song ‘Metamfo’ is not a gospel song as perceived by majority of Ghanaian music enthusiasts.
His remark followed queries raised by some entertainment pundits about why the song was not nominated for the 2013 edition of Ghana Gospel Industry Awards which came off last night.
The awards ceremony which was organized by Adom FM had ‘Alternative Gospel Song’ category which nominated songs that have streaks of gospel in them.
Sarkodie’s ‘Hallelujah’, EL’s ‘See Me Suffer’, Brenya’s ‘Life’, and Lil Shaker’s ‘Amen’ were all nominated. But some people argued that Bisa’s ‘Metamfo’ also deserved nomination. This is because it did not only have some streaks of gospel in it, but was also very popular.
However, Bisa told a section of Ghanaian media during the launching of his 16-track album at the Silver Lounge of the Accra Mall on Saturday afternoon that “my song is not a gospel song,” to obviously end any controversy between him and the organizers of the awards.
Meanwhile, the new album titled ‘Thanksgiving’ is a combination of Highlife and inspirational songs. Bisa’s style of music is gradually getting infectious as many people are noticing his unique talent.
He recently performed on the stage during the AfroBeats Music Festival and he did not disappoint the fans.
