David Oscar has been chastised by some people for sharing what they describe as “dry jokes” any time he is billed to perform but he appears unperturbed.
In his recent interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the comedian said those making such comments are unable to relate to his scripts and he cannot be blamed for that.
“I understand myself very well. When I hear people say I’m not funny, it doesn’t really bother me,” he noted.
As monitored by abrantepa.com, David Oscar further indicated that being funny is subjective and as a performer who knows his audience, such remarks cannot break him.
“My comedy is not for every kind of mind… There are certain things that you may hear from a certain comedian that may not be funny to you but the at same time, other people made the laughing. Does it mean the comedian is not funny?” He queried.
“It only means that you were not able to situate yourself within the storyline or the scope” he added.
The comedian who has now ventured into music maintained that he is the best thing that happened to Ghana’s comedy sector.
His decision to do music, according to him, does not suggest he failed with comedy but to show the other side of him as he asserts that showbiz personalities should not be limited to a particular field in the industry.
Asked who his favourite comedian is, he answered, “Augustine Dennis” and urged all to support the starlet.
Oscar won the comedy session of the maiden edition of Stars of the Future.
